94.7 WYTZ
WYTZ (Z95) – Chicago – 9/10/86 – Peter B
In 1986, 94.7 WLS-FM in Chicago changed its call letters to WYTZ and began referring to itself as “Z95”. This new approach, along with a long list of personnel changes, made the station became a serious competitor to the market’s heritage CHR, WBBM-FM (B96).
What a great aircheck! Z-95 was one of my favorite stations of all time! It was all I listened to. This one is from the brief period I lived in Chicagoland while going to school.
My aircheck! Remember the time I recorded it. I still have the original tape unscoped.
This leaked out all over the net because the late Doug Flemming raided my casettes & whored out my collection!
Enjoy

Interesting. Z would love to hear more of this and any others from this period because I’m the Ron on with Peter B.
I appreciate you recording this clip 29 years ago! Z95 was the best back then, with the Warp Factor jingles from JAM! So many great memories of this station!
