For many years, 94.3 FM in Orange County, CA was KIKF-FM (“KIK-FM”), offering a Country music format. Starting in 2000, it cycled through a series of formats before being acquired by Lieberman Broadcasting and switching to a Spanish-language format in 2003.
This is a montage of one of those formats, which Wikipedia describes as “Cool AC”. This entertaining aircheck was recorded during a specialty program known as “Disco Saturday Night”, yet it included a number of interesting Rhythmic Oldies selections from as late as 1989.
