I loved KLAZ back in this era. It was one of the most heavily departed CHRs at the time. Straight up CHR at night but Hot AC by day.

I remember KLAZ when it was on 106.3 in Hot Springs in the mid/late-80’s and it was a small station that had not yet grown. I was in high school and just moved to Hot Springs from Dallas. I CRAVED new wave and dance music. I used to call up the station all the time and bug them to play more obscure music and take more risks. At night, I was sometimes able to pick up stations in Tulsa (K-107 and Z-104.5 – both CHR at the time), Dallas (Y95) and sometimes even Houston (93Q – they played a tremendous amount of dance/alternative during their Club 93Q and Club 6400 simulcasts). I’m glad to see KLAZ finally got around to playing more dance.
